First details of Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer from dataminers: two modes and the possible lack of dedicated servers

The publication DSOGaming received information about the multiplayer Cyberpunk 2077 from an anonymous dataminer. He studied the executable file of the already released single-player game and found interesting details in it. According to these data, the multiplayer part will include two modes and, possibly, will do without dedicated servers.

The DSOGaming portal has published all the lines of code that the anonymous dataminer provided. Not all of them include useful information, but they reveal the main thing - the essence of the two multiplayer modes. The first is a classic "Deathmatch", where everyone fights only for themselves, and the victory goes to the surviving player.

The second, "Robbery", is designed for a team of users, and its name very accurately describes the essence: the soldiers must jointly make a raid, complete the assigned tasks and hide. Apparently, CD Projekt RED was inspired by a similar mode from GTA Online. However, in Cyberpunk 2077, players will be able to choose a character class: assassin, netrunner, shooter, and technician (engineer). These specializations are specified in the code.

DSOGaming also reported that Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer is likely to rely on peer-to-peer networks and do without dedicated servers. However, it is important to clarify here - all the information received is relevant only for the current moment. During the development of the multi-user part of the project, it may still change. So far, CD Projekt RED has not even announced a release date for multiplayer, as it is focused on improving the single-player game.
