Microsoft has announced that it will be discontinuing the service of Minecraft's augmented reality version of Minecraft Earth from June 2021. Microsoft was cited for the pandemic crisis and the lack of freedom of movement required for games.
Minecraft Earth is a game that revolves around exploration and discovery. Even in the early days of the lockdown due to Corona 19, many users felt the fun of wandering the streets and searching for animals, ores, and dungeons. However, Microsoft decided that "in the current global situation, it is difficult to move freely and play cooperatively, which is the basis for Minecraft to continue."
As a result, Minecraft Earth will end service in June. The Microsoft blog said, “On June 30th, we will stop supporting all content and services for games. All development is suspended, and after the end date, you will no longer be able to download or play Minecraft Earth. On July 1st, the character creator and all normal MyCraft Earth player data that are not eligible for Minecoin will be deleted.”
And the last update will be released from January 6. In this update, all content planned for Minecraft Earth will be released and the actual transaction content will be removed. If you've ever purchased content or items from Minecraft Earth, the Bedrock version of Minecraft is provided for free. Players who purchase Ruby, the in-game currency, will receive Minecoin from the Minecraft Marketplace to purchase skins, texture packs, maps, and mini-games with Minecoin.
The last update to Minecraft Earth includes:
-Significantly reduce the price of ruby-Reduce the time required for production and smelting-Replace unused production and smelting boosts with counterattack boosts of the same level-Support character creation item sets for players who accessed from January 5th to June 30th
"I am deeply grateful to all the players who have shown incredible skill in the Minecraft community," Microsoft said. It wasn't an easy decision, but we will do our best to ensure that you have a pleasant experience in Minecraft Earth until the end.”
