AMD has seen the highest brand value growth in the United States of all technology companies, beating giants like Apple, NVIDIA, and Intel. Over the past few years, Team Red's annual revenue has grown at a constant rate of around 50% (YoY). However, looking at the brand value growth, AMD achieved 89%, slightly ahead of Apple's 87% in 2020, beating NVIDIA and Intel by a large margin.
Brand value is determined by a company's earnings outlook, stock market outlook, and performance across a variety of portfolios. Recently, AMD is checking all the correct boxes. Sales in the fourth quarter were the highest in 10 years, and the stock price also hit an all-time high (about $90), offering the fastest gaming CPUs and GPUs in the PC market.
The recently released Ryzen 5000 processor has taken over Intel's gaming crown after years of waiting, while the launch of the Radeon RX 6000 GPU based on the Radeon RX 6000 GPU has brought AMD back to the enthusiastic graphics card market. Additionally, both the previous and next-generation consoles are powered by AMD's CPU and GPU architecture, supporting the company's claim to be the heart of the gaming industry.
That's not all. AMD has signed a contract with Samsung to enable RDNA-based technology to be used in future SoCs. The technology is acquired after years of being pushed back with Qualcomm. Similarly, in the data center, AMD's EPYC Milan processors and Radeon Institution GPUs stand shoulder to shoulder with rivals from Intel and NVIDIA, offering a far superior price/performance ratio, while clearly winning most benchmarks.
