A patch has been released for the Epic Games Store that partially fixes the problem with the processor load

Following reports that the Epic Games Store Launcher is overloading the processor for no reason, causing the base temperature to rise, the company has released a hotfix that partially fixes the problem.

The problem was first reported on Reddit when it was discovered that EGS, even in a hidden state, quite actively uses processor resources, in turn, heating the CPU 10-20 degrees above the base state. What exactly the launcher was doing and what it used the resources for, then it was not possible to find out, but experts noted that the service regularly sent data to 22 different servers.

We have identified the issue and currently testing the fix. You'll see it in the patch notes once the launcher gets updated :)

Sergey Galenkin announced on Twitter that patch 11.0.2 is already available. He noted that this is not a complete solution, but the situation should improve.

Galenkin explained that the reason for the load was due to the browser module, which thought it worked even when minimized. However, he is still not sure of the reason. What is definitely not there is a portal to another dimension maybe.
